OV Boo

This is a recent dwarf nova outburst of a Population II star (low on metals) in the constellation of Bootis, out in the Galactic halo. Normally a 20th magnitude star, it is currently shining at a magnitude of 16. Aside from it being a population II star, it closely orbits a sub stellar secondary at a high angle of ecliptic.  Subsequently, it has a very sharp light curve and a very short period. During our observation, three periods elapsed. But due to some software problems, the middle eclipse was not recorded. The light curve graph shows our observations in red, and transposed AAVSO data for comparison.
